This, my friends, is truly epic.

Now, I know I probably use that word more than anyone you care to admit that you know personally or professionally, but, hey… that’s my vernacular.

Sorry. No apologies.

And here’s another thing that doesn’t pull any punches or needs to apologize: The ESV Bible Reading Plans that you can get in your RSS Reader.

I’ve been looking for a good way, technologically speaking, to get into the Scriptures, and one that “selfishly” works within the context of which I find myself everyday. One of these areas of concentration, from a time perspective, is my Google Reader.

Now, I can port via RSS one of these FANTASTIC Bible Reading Plans right into it.

I have been using it for a while. Or subscribing anyway. I haven't been using it like I should. What I would like is the McCyene reading plan split into four parts and sent out through out the day. Then I could read a little at a time through the day.

There are some really good plans here, tailored to different preferences. The one I wish they had would be straight through the bible as a book. Starting at Genesis on down through Revelation. It is a little tough for some as it is easy to get bogged down in the Pentateuch, but I am going to try to read the Bible as a book, from cover to cover in 2009 and I am using the ESV Study Bible to do it with.

I have been using the ESV RSS feed for the past year on my blog. It is nice to see that they have some more bible reading plans available now. Now I wish more translations were as open as the ESV is about getting scripture into people's hands without needing to sell bound editions.

I've been using the ESV Study Bible RSS for about 6 weeks and I love it. I also like being able to have a mobile-friendly format available for when I don't have easy access to my laptop. I like the variety of plans, but I've really found the mix of the ESV Study Bible to be good for me, in that it has a lot of variety, which I've found helpful in my personal reading.

i went with the ESV Chronological Reading Guide…adds a little variety throughout the reading, and it's cool to look at the books in that way!

I'll be using the ESV Study Bible feed, along with The Stone's REAP journal. The RSS is a good reinforcement of time in the word, and adds a second look for me…
