3 Twitter Analytic Services that are Actually Useful

Posted by John Saddington on Jan 28, 2010

I would have to imagine that I’m not alone in the fact that I am sometimes very curious of my Twitter usage, growth, and general tweetstats.

Most services are pretty lame and do the exact same thing, but here are 3 services that I actually find interesting and useful:

1. TweetStats

I like tweet stats because it gives a visual of how much and how often I tweet. It even shows when I tweet the most (which is on Thursdays). Very cool.

2. TwitterCounter

This one’s pretty much the best one out there. Not only does it show your growth over some set periods of time it’ll also show you your average growth per day.

It’s been fascinating to watch how the growth changes depending on a number of different factors such as if I auto-follow everyone who follows me.

3. Twitter.Grader

I have found this to be useful a few times when I’ve wanted to connect with some of the larger twitter users in a local area (like when I goto a conference, etc). This one’s more of an ego play, but hey, isn’t Twitter narcissistic intrinsically?

Any more that you like?

  1. Oh I like TwitterCounter. Goodness. Thanks for sharing. — Did you "Add Yourself" to Twittercounter? I'm always nervous about letting any of these sites have access to my account.

  2. Twitter Grader is broken – if they were working properly then it would display my score properly, I mean it's all about the score right?
one day I'll crack the 99 percentile and take over the world, mwahahahaha

  4. John – great post. I am very familiar with TweetStats.com and TwitterCounter.com, but @Grader was news to me. Thanks for sharing. Curious what you think about Twitalyzer.com – I used to be pretty stoked by it, but it seems to have gone to the wayside of over-complicated hubris.

    • yeah. there is a definite ceiling in terms of the usefulness of an app and web service when it becomes just bloatware.

  5. I like Klout.com (or @klout on twitter).

It measures the stuff that is important, and grades you against other klout users.
