6Rounds – Going Deeper with Video Communication and Connection

One of the obvious challenges that iCampus Experiences or Online Campus Experiences have is establishing that deep connection and experience through their offerings. Especially on a pre and/or post-chat experience, the question of how we engage with our audience is one of the top priorities and concerns.

Of course, video is taking more and more of a center stage as an effective (or at least more effective) tool for connection with people, as you can see them live, engage in live conversation, etc.

6Rounds.com is taking it one step further though by including some “shared activities” in the mix, like games or co-browsing the web. I managed to grab a BETA invite the other day and was testing it out this past weekend. I started up a few “random” conversations with strangers and it was very fun.

I could also browse people “on the street” or just floating around the platform waiting for a conversation. Very cool visualization idea.

As the Dany Fishel, the CEO says:

[...] 6rounds is essentially a live meeting point that comes with real-time video chat but also a set of additional features that should enhance the “sharing experience”.

Sharing can mean anything from co-browsing YouTube to playing games, adding funny effects to a live video conference, interacting on Facebook together with your contacts or even shopping for things online together with your friends or family members.

Interesting. By participating together in a shared event, the strength of the connection and/or bridge could become stronger. This makes complete sense on so many different levels, and I think the technological Church needs to take note.

  1. looks cool…and mildly creepy. Is it like video chatting for bored people?

    Definitely has potential.

  2. That has some serious potential. Shared experience on the web? Sweet! Think about church online like this! You can see everyone that you are worshiping with! Or watching a private "concert" with 10 friends! Okay, sorry, getting a little excited!

Out of curiosity how did you get on beta?

  4. it's a good looking app
