Just to give a little perspective. My company is working with a development firm to develop an iPhone app. Its going to run us around 100k to complete our app. Yes, that was 100k as in 100 THOUSAND dollars (said in my best Austin Powers impersonation.) Around 50k for the application and somewhere around 50k for the data necessary.

And we are whining about $600? Yes this application is crude. Its first generation stuff. But it will open up the door to non-profits that just need a functional app out there and don't care about all the gloss. And it will only get better as the CMS offerings get more mature. I'm more concerned about the data connectivity than I am about the "design" to be honest. But its still very cool none the less.

i checked out a few apps by sweb development in the appstore, pretty weak. i would suggest anyone considering this look into putting together a mobile web site first and see if that can meet your needs. $600+ is a lot of money for what looks to be very little in return.
