CatalystLeadershipDigital.com – Free Online Digital Magazine is Hot

Posted by John Saddington on Apr 21, 2009

Wow, those guys over at Catalyst are killing it…!

The new CatalystLeadershipDigital.com is a free online magazine that’s really well done and is much more interactive than I first thought it would be.

Take it for a spin and let me know what you think.

Is this going to be the “new” convergence between the traditional in-your-hands magazine and the online space? We all know the former is headed out the door… so is this the new hybrid?

  1. This is a sweet new thing from Catalyst! Personally, I think the online magazine format is awesome! And of course, the content they are providing is really good stuff! Looking forward to seeing the coming issues from them.

  2. AMAZING!! Love it

  3. This is way cool and I'm glad to see Catalyst using an interactive magazine format. I couldn't resist commenting on this post, but I have to disclose my personal bias. I work for a company that creates interactive magazines and catalogs. Here is the Spring 2009 Willow Creek catalog that we created http://willowcreek.dirxion.com/spring2009 and here's one for Zondervan http://zondervanministry.dirxion.com. I worked in full time ministry for 9 years as a video director at a local church. Now that I have full time employment outside the church, I'm always looking for ways to help church staffer's and vols achieve their ministry purposes. If you think I can help, you can find me on Twitter. Thanks!

  4. Hey John,

Just a quick tech question, I noticed when I left my comment it was a homemade (or at least seemed to be) comment form, not IntenseDebate….but now it is…? Is that on purpose or am I just confused? ha

    • sometimes it's cacheing issues… or i'mmessing with the box.

  5. Saw it early today, and John as you often do, you beat me to blogging about it.

I love the content and the media integration, but there's something funky with the text, like the whole thing was scanned. I also think they carried on some magazine traits which are inconsistent with the community and conversations of the social media world we live in.

  6. The text takes a second to \”clear up\” if you zoom in.. but yes, it's not perfect. Perhaps they should have pulled the text via XML.
