Church Online, CNN, and No Excuses

Posted by John Saddington on Nov 9, 2009

A great news piece by CNN about how people can “go to church right from your computer.”

They talked with LifeChurch.tv and their pastor Craig Groeschel. I thought it was great that the reporter brought up the question of the sacraments which is still, for many people, a difficult thing to wrap their minds around.

And, of course, the final comment is the best:

Well, there you have it, absolutely no excuses.

I saw this last night and thought it was pretty awesome.

But I'll be totally honest (and the risk of sounding like a total jerk and a complete cynic). When I heard the reporter say "absolutely no excuses," I couldn't help but wonder if she attends a church or if that was a way to neatly wrap up the story.

  2. Great story, but shouldn’t CNN have figured out aspect ratios by now? At one point Craig’s face was crazy wide in the still & the crazy thin on the video. I know it’s not the point of the story and all. But where’s the love in your work CNN?

    • So true, so sad.

    • Haha, I caught that, too.

  3. I like the first comment of the news anchor. "When I imagine church" I think she needs to EXPERIENCE it!

You do realize this is HLN not CNN?

  5. saw this last night when Los tweeted it. They got him jammin out in this segment too!

Glad online church is starting to get some press. And glad they asked the sacrament question. Good to be up front about some of the bigger questions like that.

  6. i'm guessing that CNN took their video down because the one you are using now is from @lostwhit (Carlos Whittaker)

    • Good ole lostwhit

      • Looks like the cnn verson is there.
