Connecting the Bloomblas
Wow. This just on the heels of Tokoni and my thoughts about “Social Storytelling” comes another service like it (but not completely the same).
Bloombla is about connecting the world together by things you’ve done in your life. They say it’s “fun and an addictive way of sharing your experiences and seeing how they fit with the rest of the world.” Here’s the CEO’s take on things:
Bloombla is all about you, your life, your stories and everyone around you. We let our users share their stories with friends, get connected with others around the world who have shared your experiences, view their stories and tell your own. Users can browse friends profiles, read of their adventures and learn things they never knew about them before. Our search allows you to find people who have not only done something you may be interested in but also read their thoughts. It could be about a product they purchased, a place they’ve been to, an event they attended and the list goes on. Every Bloom becomes a rich source of useful information. The possibilities are endless.
So, what did I do? I signed up, registered, and took a gander to see if anyone else shared the most awesome part of their life story ever, accepting Jesus Christ!
Look what I found…!
Nothing. No results. Perhaps because it’s such a new service. So, I wrote a bloombla:

I checked back today and still nothing. There’s still time.
So, what does it actually do? Instead of being a straight-up Twitter clone, or a digg-eque engine, it’s a improbable mix of the two. You just say (or bloom) what you did. Endless possibilities here. Someone else do the same thing? Cool! It’ll let you know.
Not sure of it’s use beyond just another niche-microblogging community, but if you’ve got an itch to engage it for Jesus, rock on.

Doesn’t seem like quite enough of a difference from Twitter to make an incredible difference. Successful companies will create the next big thing, not the last one.
How new is this exactly? I mean I see like a ton of profiles at the bottom, and not one person has mentioned anything about Jesus and what he is doing in their lives?
Hmm….seems interesting.
@bcox, definitely agree with you there. There’s a lot of “just-like-it’s” out there… although, the next big thing could be different in regards to your definition of “success”.
Try http://www.heekya.com as a great alternative to the current materials.
@David, would love an invite…!
I don’t know if this works, but if you check out this link:

That’s another reason why Christians today need to be involved in the social web.
