CyberBeg – Virtual Begging?

Posted by John Saddington on Dec 19, 2009

The jury is still out on this one from my perspective so I’m asking you what you think about CyberBeg.com?

They say that it’s a place of “hope.” My gut feeling is it’s an opportunity for abuse, but perhaps I’m not being full ‘o’ grace here?

Apparently over 23k has been donated to members of the site.

  1. I'd rather them have their own special corner to do it where people interested in that kinda stuff can go to help rather than flooding all the other social networks/email.

    • hm. that's good point.

  2. The crazy thing is…how do you know what is the truth or just a scam to get something from the generosity of others. I think it is an ok idea but always skeptical. Our church has a corkboard online that started out w/ people getting rid of unwanted stuff, but has turned it to more of a begboard. I feel that there are great organizations already in place in communities that help those less fortunate. But then again…it's the internet…anything can happen

    • very true. how do you really know? the internet. anything can happen!
