Does Your Ministry Honestly Invest in Managing Your SERPS?

Does your ministry actively invest in the management and study of your SERPS (Search Engine Page Results)?
A conversation recently with a executive pastor would conclude that the vast majority do not. Unfortunately for this ministry, they began to manage their SERPS after they discovered that they were de-listed after apparently being wrongly labeled as promoting “dangerous” material.
Hah.
Of course, this is not the best time to actively engage (and understand) these issues.
So, be honest. How many of you really invest some time in managing your SERPS for your ministry and/or non-profit?

One of our search marketing clients recently got delisted by Google after their server got hacked & the perpetrator put up fraudulent pages under their domain name. They lost 40% of their traffic. Fortunately, we were able to get them relisted within a couple weeks & their rankings are back where they were.
But my experience is delisting is pretty rare. The bigger issue is that most ministries don’t actively invest in their search rankings to begin with. Most ministry leaders either don’t realize the importance of search rankings don’t understand their search rankings (think ranking #1 for the name of their ministry means they’re doing well), or think they can do their own SEO (but put it on the back burner and never do it).
wow. that’s great that they recovered… and i DEFINITELY agree with you that the bigger issue is that most ministries don’t even know what it is.
John, off topic I know, but how are you doing today? I presume your out of the hospital?
Paul, bro, thanks so much for asking! i’m feeling much better… on steroids and antibiotics, so that could be it..
but seriously, thanks. i really apprecaite it.
