We don't a have a huge need for live streaming our worship services, but we have an occionaly use for it. Now, folks are requesting this for weddings (yeah...). I've used Windows Media Encoder in the past for this, but it is limited to PCs and IE. Is there a good/free/cheap software available that would let me stream in flash? We have a 10Mbps fiber connection, and wouldn't have more that 25-30 connections at a time. Any suggestions?

    Check out Quicktime Broadcaster http://www.apple.com/quicktime/broadcaster/

I've never actually gone live with it, but having looked at the features, I think it might be exactly what you need.

Thanks for the quick reply, stephen. I forgot to mention that we are in a PC environment. That limits me alot, I mean challenges me alot.

Haven't used it, don't know much about it, but the name came across my desk awhile back. I don't know if they do live streaming. http://www.truthcasting.com Free.

Whoa, TruthCasting looks pretty cool. I also couldn't tell from my five-second read of the About Us page if they do live streaming or not, but regardless that looks like a great service. I'll keep that one in mind -- it might come in handy someday!

Thanks for all the feedback. We have the equipment/bandwidth to host our own flash servers. I'm not familiar with Flash Media Streaming Server. Is it difficult to setup? I've messed around with the Flash Media Encoder. I may be way off base (probably am), but it looks like the workflow is similar to what I've got setup now using Windows Media Encoder and Windows Media Server on a Microsoft Server 2003 system. It works really well, but only for PCs. I want a cross platform option. Thanks for the feedback again
