Today’s Friday 5 is with Chris Davis, another web-dev-junkie like me.  The first thing that really clued me in was Chris’ blog, which I think is awesome.  Check it out.

In addition, Chris’ photo-posting service Pikter has been building steam and even got it to integrate with Gospelr, which makes it the first web-ap/service-integration… and if I can remember correctly, he did it within 24 hours or so after it hit TechCrunch.

The man’s got talent.  It’s been exciting to get to know him and to see how he’s impacting the digi-world.

Behind the scenes I’m continuing to develop a sign-in system that prints out name tags, enters the name into a doorprize drawing. Then the day after, emails the numbers and follow-up info to the appropriate people. Will also handle birthdays.
http://BRSMconnect.com – a site connecting students from the Brownsville Revival.
I developed the site back in 2006. Now giving it a complete face lift and a nice “Web 2.0″ upgrade.

How do you see Web Technology impacting The Kingdom?

I see the impact it has could be both positive and negative. If we don’t use it, we will lose when it comes to connecting with culture. If we adore it (technology), we will lose when it comes to connecting the culture with Jesus (are we connecting them with technology and the coolness factor, or the real deal, Jesus Himself?). However, if we use it in balance, it will greatly expand the Kingdom’s influence on this earth.

I also see a bit of a deficit, when it comes to technology, in the Pentecostal/Charismatic realm of Christianity. I fall under that “category” and have noticed that many churches in this area seem to “shy” away at times from technology. I think they’re definitely missing out on a huge link to our culture.
