Gospelr.com, a twitter-integrated microblogging service launched last year has been recently acquired and has been re-released into the wild.

Originally created by John Saddington (yes, that’s me, and I do not particularly enjoy talking in the 3rd person…) in the last quarter of 2008, it was built on PHP and mySQL. It has now been acquired Chris Matthieu and built with Ruby on Rails. John has been looking for a new owner since May of this year.

You can sign up by simply authenticating via Twitter:

John’s hope is that Chris can continue to build it out and provide a valuable service for those interested in using it.

Gospelr received world-wide notice after a writeup on TechCrunch.com and a few other large blogs.

  1. Congrats John! I cant wait to see what Chris is able to do with this. tools like this that sit on top of platforms like Twitter, Facebook, etc are a great way to filter and prioritize niche content or focuses. It really helps people to focus and reduce the noise of all of the different methods of communication out there…

    keep up the good work!

  2. Thanks John! Great article!
