Multiple Short URL’s with Class

Posted by John Saddington on Dec 26, 2008

Krunchd.com is one of those services that made a lot of people /facepalm when they first saw it: Dead obvious extension of an already great service idea.

“Tiny” or “short” URL’s have been with us for a while now and the increase of their use in the past year has been nothing but significant.  Why?  It’s because it’s a genius service.  That’s why I’m digging Krunchd so badly because of not only the obvious use but because it’s a great idea that was birthed off it’s historical parent-idea.

And it couldn’t have come at a better time since I actually needed something just like it: Someone had asked me to send them links to the past few Friday 5’s for their review.  They needed to pass this list on to a number of others within their team.  I wanted to make it easy on them instead of copying and pasting or forwarding a large email.

Booya.  I found Krunchd.

Check out the link hereReadWriteWeb has another review as well.

What do you think?  Think you’ll actually use it?

  1. Great find. Thanks for sharing it. It looks like a great niche sort of app. I probably need to send mutliple links 1 in 20 times so I can see this getting some use. Now I just need ot find a way to remember it's out there when I need it….

    Peace

    • yeah, not using it for mucho stuff… but for the occasional blast.

  2. Sorry – I be lost. Is it like tinyurl, but it somehow sends one link that contains multiple links? Does it open them all in tabs? Separate Windows? Just opens a web page with all links attached? Why is this better than your own "Friday Five" summary web page with a link to your own site?

    • yeah. exactly. just shows the list of urls…

it's not better, but it served a particular purpose for an individual. :)

  3. Great post. added to my favourites list. ecommerce has been one of the best businesses today.
