NewSpring Church is headed down a path which many ministries and congregations will either decide to do this year or follow suit: They are going to be launching their Web Campus on February 1st, 2009.

First announced December 15th, this is an exciting time for the ministry, and even though they may have been a “little slow” on the “blogging thing,” it certainly hasn’t stopped them from moving forward in the deep waters of online.

That’s courage. That’s leadership.

I spent some time chatting via Tokbox the other night with the new Web Campus Pastor Nick Charalambous. (I honestly still cannot pronounce your last name Nick, even though you said it right here in this video.)

Nick’s a great guy with a big heart and Perry, Tony, and team did a great job of finding the “right guy” for the new campus. You’ve got my support guys and I’m watching in anxious anticipation for your launch.

In addition, something that NewSpring is doing via their Web Campus Blog is 2 Weeks of Prayer leading up the launch. I’m not sure about you but I find this absolutely essential and am glad they’re doing it. Prayer isn’t used as much for the online mission field and establishing this precedent is invaluable.

What I thought would be cool is if YOU could sign up and take a day to pray. Just comment below on the day that you’re going to commit to praying and then DO IT.

Let’s raise up a community of believers in the online world who really pray.

Day 1, Jan. 18

Pray that God looks with favor on our web campus, and that we receive Godʼs vision and direction in everything. Pray that Jesus is lifted up and that the Holy Spirit is poure out in all our worship services and ministries. Ask for Godʼs special protection of the web campus from technical difficulties. (2 Chron. 7:15-16.)

Day 2, Jan. 19

Pray that God would use the NewSpring Web Campus to gather tens of thousands of his lost sheep from every city and every continent and bring them into the obedience of faith. (Matt. 18:12-14)

Day 3, Jan. 20

Pray that God would soften the hearts of all those who visit the NewSpring Web Campus, and that they would always be ready to receive His word and always be ready for repentance. Pray that attenders would find healing emotionally, physically, and spiritually in Christ and through his people. (2 Chron 7:14)

Day 4, Jan. 21

Pray that a core group of faithful believers who have been without a church body and who have been given a heart to build this ministry will be drawn quickly to the web campus. Pray that they and everyone who attends is authentic and passionate in pouring out praise to God in private and collectively. (Col. 1:10)

Day 5, Jan. 22

Pray that God will raise up clusters of web campus attenders throughout the world. Pray that these groups would become the seed of local churches that will reach their communities with the life-saving message of the Gospel. (Matt. 24:14)

Day 6, Jan. 23

Pray for all attenders to become real, authentic disciples of Christ who are learning, growing and bearing spiritual fruit and, in turn, making more disciples. Ask God that they see the importance of covenant community with one another, constantly seeking to serve one another, hold each other accountable and build each other up. (Heb. 10:24-25)

Day 7, Jan. 24

Ask God to show each member of our web campus family how to use their gifts to serve in this ministry. Pray that everyone is willing and able to support the campus with thankful words and hands. (1 Cor. 12:20)

Day 8, Jan. 25

Pray that our web campus family is seen as a community of grace and forgiveness, seeing hurting and broken people with Godʼs eyes and Godʼs heart, and recognizing everyoneʼs potential in Christ. (1 Peter 4:8-12)

Day 9, Jan. 26

Pray for every member of the web campus family to pray for the campus staff, volunteers and community consistently. Ask God to give them a special burden to pray for the lost inside their individual social networks, to invite people and join with them in visiting and worshiping at the web campus. (1 Tim. 2:14)

Day 10, Jan 27

Pray that the chat room is protected from attack by the enemy and for our chat hosts have gentleness and hospitality. Ask God to give them the spiritual sensitivity and discernment to make the chat room a welcoming place, whose talk is wholesome and glorifying. (Eph 4:29)

Day 11, Jan. 28

Pray for the iCare volunteers that they will have wisdom, courage, compassion and discernment in using Godʼs word as they speak to attenders in need. Ask God to guide them in the spirit in every moment. (Phil 4:19) www.newspring.cc/webcampus/blog

Day 12, Jan. 29

Ask God to raise up mature leaders on the web campus who are capable of sound teaching, patience and encouragement, as they take the initiative to disciple others individually and in groups. (Col. 1:28)

Day 13, Jan. 30

Pray that web campus attenders will give generously of their time, talent and financial resources so that we may add service times and expand the scope of our ministry.

Day 14, Jan. 31

Pray for the web campus pastor and the leadership of NewSpring Church to walk faithfully, seeking Godʼs will. Ask God to protect them from sin and from the enemy, and to help them make wise decisions and to maintain a clear vision for our web ministry. (1 Peter 5:1-2)
