A very neat milestone, indeed! One Billion Minutes of reading the Bible on YouVersion.

Congratulations to the product team over at LifeChurch and Team Digerati for developing an mobile version of the most precious text ever created and assembled!

So, how much time do you think you’ve spent reading the bible on your mobile device? I’ll be honest, I read my physical one way more than my digital version, and I’m not sure that’ll change.

I just like the “feel”…

    I would have to say that I am reading my Bible far more often since I have it on my iPhone. This is one area that my iPhone has truly helped me to get more scripture into my head. And I use the YouVersion app, and am looking forward to the upcoming reading plans feature.

    I've read zero minutes of Bible on a mobile device. I hope everyone's like you and reads more physical Bible than mobile device Bible because compared to everything else we do, one billion minutes isn't that much.

    Thanks for the milestone reminder though. I wouldn't have known otherwise.

    Well 1 billion minutes is 1902 years. So if we'd had a reading marathon back in time, we could almost actually go talk it up with John while he wrote Revelation…It's worth a try ;)

    Neat milestone indeed.

    I'm on youversion periodically, but when I'm on the computer (which is most waking hours) I'll usually use http://www.blueletterbible.org over youversion…or a print Bible for that matter.

    I'm a sucker for their tools, especially the linked Hebrew/Greek lexicon for every word of every verse.

    Biblical nerdery.

    Why do you think some people have a negative reaction towards reading the Bible on a mobile device? I understand personal preference of paper vs. screen, but surely there's nothing moral or spiritual at stake here, right?

    I wonder if people were upset about paper Bibles when that change was made, or maybe they were upset when the book format replaced the scrolls. "These flat paper Bibles aren't heavy enough. People should spend more time reading on parchment or papyrus. This just doesn't feel right." :)

    I try to read through the Bible at least once a year, and for the the past year I've probably only used a "physical" Bible around twenty times.

    My Pocket ESV is much easier to use. Course I still have a stupid TMobile Curve.

    Can't do the digital, read the physical bible.
    But, when I am at church or other places I will bust out youversion.
