Internet Church, StrategyNewSpringLive: Live Broadcast of NewSpring’s 4 Services
Nick announced on his blog (after a long hiatus… welcome back!) that NewSpring Church is re-launching their online experience to now broadcast live all 4 of their services:
The new webcast replaces the “Web Service,” which was launched in February 2009 as an experiment in “online church” but evolved quickly to become an environment focused on leveraging web attenders and seekers toward local churches.

Blogging, Business, Strategy, Web ToolsStarter Kit: Building a Blog Network from Scratch
It doesn’t take long when you’re trying to build a successful blog network to realize that nobody has written a book on the subject.
Truth be told? We could use one right about now. Don’t get me wrong, the hammer is down and we’re banging some juice on all cylinders. We have, almost literally, hit the ground running.
But success in this game is far from guaranteed, especially if you plan to play it with your cards facing outwards for the world to see.
And this, friends, is exactly what we plan to do.

Community, NewsTopChurchBlogs Launches, Yay…?
Got a notice in my inbox that a new aggregation website had been launched titled TopChurchBlogs.com.
Taking a look I didn’t see anything necessarily new or innovative; looks like just a growing list of blogs that the owner thinks are “top.”
Personally, I’m a little bit tired of things like this because it doesn’t prove anything; curating a list of anything “top” is as subjective as listing out the best Starbucks drink orders during morning rush.
Google, StrategyOne Thing that Churches Can Learn From Google and Apple
We all know that recently Google released their latest attempt at world wide web dominion through Google Buzz. Some are aflutter with it. Yes, I tried it myself. And I have to conclude as Daniel Lyon’s recent Newsweek post concluded that it’s more like buzz kill.
I tried it out, but I just didn’t get it too much myself. I have Facebook. And I’m on Twitter. And for now, that seems to be enough.
And if we look at other recent Google offerings, many have felt equally unimpressed.

Business, Strategy, WordpressBuilding a Business and Working Hard: A Month in Review
We’ve been working hard; it’s tough to manage a growing internet startup!
Ups and downs and lateral motion provides enough movement to make one sea sick. But it’s been a thrilling ride.
The 8BIT Network is now officially 1 month old (and some change). We’ve experienced some tremendous growth. Here’s a look at what the first month looked like, how we’re doing and where we’re going.
Ready for an inside look?
Community, ConferencesDynamic Church Conference, Promo Code!
Anything that has the word dynamic in it grabs your attention, mix that with the words church and conference and you have a brilliant mix of awesomeness.
The 4th annual Dynamic Church Conference (DC10) is a three-day educational event focused on teaching users and developers how to effectively leverage Fellowship One, the leading web-based church management software solution.
Not only is this conference centered around the Fellowship One software but it also centers around the goal of education. Sweet.
Community, MiscThursday Musings: Amusing Spam Mail
There are a few times where the spam mail that I get (that manages to get through my spam filters) is actually quite amusing.
3 cheers to hilarious and amusing spam mail!
On another note, do you remember the first few spam mails that you got? Man, the click-through rate of those suckers must have been nuts!
Now, entire industries have been built to “combat” the spam. I mean, it’s crazy; people make their entire living off managing this stupid crap. New technologies have been birthed because of this lamesauce.
Amazing.
Community, Design, MiscChurchCrunch with No Style…
So, who else is seeing ChurchCrunch with no stylesheet?
Apparently more than a few of you are behind corporate firewalls?
That’s really sad. I’m not sure, off the bat, how to get this fixed and redirected to another style.css file, so I’ll investigate… anyone have any experience and/or could point me in the right direction, that would be awesome.
Check the awesomesauce look though:
Business, StrategySometimes You Just Need to Start (and Iterate)
I believe this principle more than many other great principles out there in terms of building products and businesses: Just start.
One of the reasons I have never required anyone to sign any NDA in capital funding or concept-sharing in some of the things that I have done in the past is because great ideas are a dime-a-dozen. What makes a great idea truly great is the execution of that idea.
That’s it.
But that separation is so vast, in my opinion, that it makes NDAs irrelevant and useful for those that are insecure with their ability to follow through. This might be harsh, but it’s what I believe to be true.
