Re-Thinking Social Media – Part 9 – Exclusivity

The image above is a fancy example of a 404 Page, or a broken link. The point of using this picture during my Breakout was to make a statement: You can either have pages on your blog that do not exist or that do not exist for particular people.

Exclusivity is one of those things that has real power. Making parts of your blog “exclusive” can sometimes be extremely effective for gaining attention, traffic, and interest.

We often don’t like to think about exclusivity, especially in the evangelical circles, but the fact is that it exists, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Roll the idea around in your head a bit about how you could possibly leverage “exclusivity” on your blog to produce desired results.

  1. Exclusivity creates value. And when you are valuable to your community, it is very good. That's all dependent on having great content in that exclusive area, though!

  2. yes, that's very true! good value.

  3. Speaking of this… when I create a new user for my wordpress blog… what role do I want to give them? What role did you give me for this blog?
