Sermon Browser Plugin for WordPress
Check this out folks. This plugin for WordPress, called Sermon Browser, just might covert a few of you to moving to WP fulltime.
That’s a good thing. Screeny after the jump.

Stolen from the description:
- Sermons can be searched by topic, preacher, bible passage or date.
- Full podcasting capabilities, including custom podcasts for individual users.
- Sermons uploaded in mp3 format can be played directly on your website using the 1PixelOut Audio Player.
- An optional sidebar widget displays sermons on all of your posts or pages.
- Embed videos and other flash files from sites such as YouTube or Google Video.
- Other file types can also be uploaded, including PDF, Powerpoint, Word, text and RTF. Multiple files can be attached to single sermons.
- The full Bible text of the passage being preached on can be included on each sermon page (five different versions, including ESV).
- Files can be uploaded to your own site through the browser or via FTP. Alternatively you can use other free audio hosting sites such as Odeo.
- Powerful templating function allows complete customisation to complement the look of your site.
- Simple statistics show how often each sermon has been listened to.
- Support for WordPress MU (WPMU)
- Extensive help and tutorial screencasts.
So, would you guys use it?

I will need to play around with this plugin a bit more being able to answer if I would use it, but this looks like a promising plugin and one that I will be checking out to see how Churches I know might be able to use it.
sweet! let us know if you find or make one! let us know!
also, you just gave me a GREAT idea… more to come…
Looks like a great tool. Saves a lot of work and seems that it would make this process easy for non-tech people (who are often the ones on PowerPoint and recording the sermon!)
let us know if you use it!
Stop teasing me!
I"M NOT!
Our church website uses WordPress (http://www.pacificchurch.com). We create a post for each sermon. We embed the powerpoint through Slideshare, and use a basic podcast widget to create a podcast enclosure and embedded media player… We only have one pastor preaching, generally, so…. do we really need this? Sell it to me!
Probably not. You can always try it out, but if you have a good system, keep it up!
I actually just bookmarked this plugin a week ago for use on a friends church site! Looks very promising!
downloaded tonight…my new toy
let me know how that works out for you…!
you know i will!

H3:Update-I love the idea behind this plug-in, but it's the most frustrating thing on the back-end! I am working with another webmaster in Seattle who has set it up.He gave me some code to change the php, I'd be happy to share. You'll need it for the iTunes setup. I have an archive of over 500 sermons to manage. Hope to get this working soon.
Hi.
I am using this pugin on my church’s website and all is OK except that I cannot get the preachers photo to show up? Anyone have any ideas?
See it here: http://www.rocky-road.org
Thanks.
Hey Jim, can I get a copy of code also? I've been racking my brain trying to get it to work… Thanks for the help!
I want to know how you go the audio player to embed, everytime I upload audio it only shows the download option which is not what I want. I do want the option to let people download the audio but I would like to have a player above that.
We use it on our website and it meets the simple needs of our site very well.

Great Site!
So… I’m a total WordPress noob and can’t figure out how to add the [sermon] shortcode into a page on WordPress.
Any help?
