ShareThis is Sharing Innovation
Many of you are probably already aware of the ShareThis widget. For the rest of you that may not be familiar with it, it’s probably time to jump on it.
Think RedBull for a second. The ShareThis social widget gives your blog or website “wings” allowing readers and users to easily share the content into the other vast parts of the social web. It even enables the user to share via email or to re-blog it on their own property.
Now, the great news is that you can get it today. The even better news is that after a huge round of funding, the widget is going to be experiencing a massive upgrade.
It’s significant enough of a change where I’ll probably use it, and I’m pretty picky about my ’social icons’ and ’social widgets.’
Take a look at this video after the jump about the new upgrade:
Perhaps one of the even larger reasons why I’m excited is that there exists an opportunity for innovation unlike really any other widget-factory out there:
The company has a lot of opportunity for data-centric innovation and CEO Tim Schigel says that’s the direction he’s looking to take things. You have to hope that companies like this can pull it off and turn into the platforms they say the want to be – and not just advertising platforms, either.
We’ll just have to keep tabs on how they do and where they go. I’m pretty stoked.

Very cool. I've been using ShareThis for a while. It's plays nice with WP too. Their WP plugin lets you place the SharThis button anywhere on your page and you can theme the widget to match your design. It's nice to see a service like this growing and catching on.
yah. i like what you've done on your blog. in regards to your thoughts on tangle… did you see my post here about it?
Sounds interesting….
Whats up with the wordpress comments instead of intense debate? How am I going to continue to build my intense debate reputation?
My appologies John, I loaded this page at first and only saw the wordpress comment box. I refreshed and intense debate was back. Were you adjusting some things or is intense debate going weird?
I was working on some stuff.
Done, thanks.
