Stale Content (and Blogs) Stink

Posted by John Saddington on Dec 19, 2009

One of the best things you could do this coming year is revamp that blog of yours and get in rhythm and schedule, because a stale and lifeless blog is “moldy.”

Your organization and ministry is worth the time and attention of a good blog! Remember, it’s not that you have to create posts daily; instead create a culture that understands the publishing schedule!

That can make all the difference. Whether you publish once a day or once a week doesn’t matter as long as it doesn’t appear neglected (although I’d recommend more than once a week)!

Get help if you need, solicit guest authors, schedule out the time, and commit to it. You can do it!

  1. Word!
I just need to "solicit guest authors" and my blog will be set to be on the way.

    • dude you're rocking it!

  3. There is more to the art of blogging than I originally anticipated. I'm on the learning curve of this blogging roller coaster and my hands are up. 2010 is going to be an awesome year but planning is the thing that determines how fast and exciting the coaster is. (roller coaster illustrations are the BOMB)

    • ;) agreed. videos are better.

  4. I'm actually gonna be doing the "blog break" thing in coming weeks. I did a decent job of keeping a 4 to 5 post cadence for 5 months.

I wanna take a break, regroup, and see what I can bring back for 2010.

  5. Yes, regular posting is so important, not necessarily the amount of regular posting. I don't know how many times I've found a blog with a lot of great content on it, but because it hasn't been updated in a while, I read what I want, then leave… never to to return again.

  6. After blogging for a year now… I know I need to get on a schedule. I just need to take the time in my life to "notice" things… still workin on it.

    • do it. it makes all the difference.
