What do you think of this strategy? Do you think it's worth the effort?
To me it seems having a small group of people try to force a topic up the list seems to defeat the purpose of trending topics in capturing what is getting talked about by the most people. It also seems like a lot of effort to get a few words briefly into a list that is often mostly rubbish.

Lately i've seen lots of groups trying to force a topic into the twitter trending topics list through excess tweeting for the purposes of promoting something or even evangelizing.
