it has potential to go BOTH ways -> 1) to be a complete distraction and a disaster, 2) to really engage people and enhance the community in your church.
i think people on both sides need to understand that Twitter is a tool, and there are right and wrong ways to use it. i applaud you for reminding us of that.

great post! we're having a mini-debate in my church re:using Twitter on my blog.

it has potential to go BOTH ways -> 1) to be a complete distraction and a disaster, 2) to really engage people and enhance the community in your church.

i think people on both sides need to understand that Twitter is a tool, and there are right and wrong ways to use it. i applaud you for reminding us of that.

By: Twitter for Your Congregation @ Continuing Alumni Education

<guid

Honestly this same discussions 5 years ago, 'should my church have a website' should tell a little more about where we're heading. You can certainly use twitter and facebook <look below after this comment for the buttons> to help your church reach new people and keep your members connected throughout the week. Especially helpful for reminding folks of mid-week events and special dates!

Well hopefully since this post was made (in February) everyone has come around a little more about using Twitter.
