5 Apps from the Google Marketplace You Should Try

Posted by John Saddington on Mar 18, 2010

The Google Apps Marketplace is a neat little place to hang out if you’ve got a few moments to test new apps. I’ve been trying more than my fair share and I love how it’s growing daily.
If you aren’t familiar with what the marketplace is all about, here’s what they say about themselves:
The Google Apps [...]

Visualizing the Internet

Posted by John Saddington on Mar 18, 2010

Take a look at this interactive visualization of the internet across the globe. Pretty neat, right?
I particularly liked reviewing some of the “web rich”; I’ll admit that I have something within me that still wants to be that wealthy, that powerful, and that well-known.
Yikes.

Facebook > Google?

Posted by John Saddington on Mar 17, 2010

Apparently Facebook has now topped Google as the most visited site in the US. This is a telling shift in how we view online content in today’s technological economy.
I think this sentiment probably sums it up best:

If you haven’t checked out Socialwok, a new social communication and group collaboration tool that leverages your Google Apps account, you need to.
And not because I said so but because it seriously looks like a valuable tool.
… And I’ve [...]

Posted by John Saddington on Mar 12, 2010

I’ll be honest: This new tool is pretty darn ugly but it does an amazing job at creating a better understanding of your Google Alerts (If you need some help check out this post: Google Alerts are Important for Ministry)!
Check it out: AlertRank!
It essentially creates a ranking system for you to quickly see where the [...]

Establish a LinkedIn Outpost for Your Ministry

Posted by Brian Barela on Mar 11, 2010

Your church definitely has a website, probably a Facebook group or Fan Page, and maybe a Twitter account. But a LinkedIn group?
LinkedIn can be seen and treated as the ugly step-child of social media sites. Unless you seriously need a job or seriously hate your current one I doubt your logging hours on it.
However establishing [...]

Northland Church Launches Facebook Church

Posted by John Saddington on Mar 10, 2010

This is pretty neat (and different).
Apparently Northland Church has launched a Facebook application with the hopes of being one of the first Facebook Campus:
On Sunday morning, Northland, A Church Distributed will officially open the doors to its new Facebook app, which will allow worshipers to invite their Facebook friends to go to church [...]
