Twellowship – The Christian Twitter Train

Posted by John Saddington on Feb 6, 2010

Another targeted “more followers on Twitter” scheme for the faithful few. I wouldn’t put my username and password in those boxes if you paid me: It doesn’t look “secure” or trustworthy. That’s not how I roll with Twitter. The logo is terrible. It’s not free. Linked websites are just too classy for me. Thoughts?

Verge: Missional Community Conference Rocks FeedMagnet Stream

Posted by John Saddington on Feb 5, 2010

Verge, a Missional Community Conference which is currently about half-way through, has a very interesting and attractive Twitter feed widget that I had never seen before: FeedMagnet. And although the service does have a “free” option, it would obviously be better to go ahead and pay the $35/month, especially if it’s for a conference or [...]

Who Needs Church When We Have Internet Gods?

Posted by John Saddington on Feb 4, 2010

Wow. I love this. Thoughts? Do we, as Christians, get “sucked” into this mentality in even the slightest ways with our “spiritual heroes?”

3 Twitter Analytic Services that are Actually Useful

Posted by John Saddington on Jan 28, 2010

I would have to imagine that I’m not alone in the fact that I am sometimes very curious of my Twitter usage, growth, and general tweetstats. Most services are pretty lame and do the exact same thing, but here are 3 services that I actually find interesting and useful: 1. TweetStats I like tweet stats [...]

Linear Comments Are Dead

Posted by Vin Thomas on Jan 25, 2010

This is a Guest Post by Vin Thomas. In my humble opinion, forums are lame. Commenting is where it’s at. But traditional formatting for comments doesn’t work very well. That’s where threaded comments come in. They give you some of the features of forum style posting, but none of the lameness (yes, that’s a word). [...]

The Value of Facebook and Twitter Links for Page Rank and SEO

Posted by John Saddington on Jan 23, 2010

This video (embedded) is extremely important and helpful to know and is definitely something to keep in mind when considering the relative benefits of Facebook and Twitter for Page Rank and SEO. I could have guessed that there were no-follows and agree that it’s a good thing that it is. A strategy then for us [...]

Your Ministry Can’t Wait for the Next Big Thing

Posted by John Saddington on Jan 18, 2010

Your ministry can’t wait for the next big thing in technology before you dive in. Why? Because there will always be a “next thing.” I hear these things often when counseling ministries (and maybe you do too): What if this technology becomes outdated next year? or… What if something better comes along in 3 months? [...]

This is a Guest Post by Vin Thomas. Is your website more like a text book, than Facebook? Do you struggle to engage your visitors? Here are a few simple tips to help you bring a human touch to your website. 1. Write With Personality When you’re writing copy for your website, it can be [...]

Tweeting the Un-Tweetable

Posted by John Saddington on Jan 8, 2010

Ever tweet something that you shouldn’t have tweeted? Ever tweet something and then, perhaps a few moments later, scramble back online to delete it? I know I have… more than a few times. Twitter has changed the way that we interact and engage with others; it’s changed the way we message and communicate. And maybe, [...]

Changing Your Voice – Missional Social Media

Posted by Vince Marotte on Jan 7, 2010

This is a Guest Post by Vince Marotte. Social Media has changed a lot since I had my first  GeoCities (RIP) site. Most of us started off on MySpace and then moved to Facebook, some of us had or have a blog somewhere in there and then came Twitter. I am a believer that Twitter [...]
