Zetify Launches, Fellowship with Christians

Zetify.com, a new social networking-like service, recently crossed my desk and appears to have a plethora of different services, features, and functionalities.
I think the most standout thing immediately was the apparent “mix” of target audiences for both the obviously-Christian and then the Christian-Curious (which is an interesting tag).
With a prayer board, groups, a blog, and even a heatmap (below) of churches and information, it seems to be more than just another Christian social networking site.

Creating a profile looked easy but it was not. In fact, I never actually signed up since my church wasn’t listed and it required a lot of information from me to move forward.
Too bad. The service looks cool but I’m all about low-bar registration. This was not easy for me!
Actually, I lied. Apparently it did sign me up but the process was a bit confusing.
Check it out and let me know what you think. Useful? Or is it just another player in a saturated field? I’m looking hard for the “unique” value props and either I’m missing it or I’ll have to dig further.

I'm confused why they would simultaneously call themselves "for the Christian-curious" and also have a high registration impact that required you to list your church.
My Christian-curious friends don't consider themselves to have a church home.

At least they don't look almost exactly like facebook/myspace/youtube like a lot of other chritsian social networking sites. Even so, i do wonder if we really need another one
there's tons of internet real estate to take up.
signing up and checking it out…
Hi John,
Thanks for the review and thank you to your readers for checking it out. The Web site is not focused on social networking rather it tries to help people plug-in to their local Christian community. I personally think the Zetify church directory is one of the best around.
I'll work on improving the registration process. Selecting a church is optional, but I'll make it more obvious in the future.
Keep in mind the site is still very, very new and I'll be rolling out new upgrades and features in the coming months.
jeff, cool stuff! thanks for telling me about it!
